"Fashion is more usually a gentle progression of revisited ideas."
~ Bruce Oldfield

It is so easy to get caught up in the trends and fads of this day and age.  We often forget that almost anything we think is new, is really just old with a touch of new millennium finesse. By taking fashion into your own hands and creating a functional and memorable garment, you may be starting a "new" trend yourself that will never time out.

You do not have to wait for the runway designers to start something that has really already been visited, and spend large amounts for it when it hit stores.

YOU can become the designer!  If you don't know where to begin as far as ideas go, patterns are always a great choice.  One of our favorites classics at Fabrique is the "Decades of Style" pattern company.  They have beautiful patterns that are guaranteed to be a timeless piece and conversation sparker.

2 DIFFERENT LOOKS, ONE PATTERN!

Helen McCleneghen created 2 completely different looks simply by changing the fabric! She used Vogue pattern 8645 shown on the right, to create these day and night looks. Come check out our window display!

Her "day" look (right) is made with an orange and white oxford stripe cotton that was actually one of our remnants-what a great use for a remnant! The second look is the "night" (left)  made with a gorgeous floral pattern silk charmeuse. Both of these dresses are great for so many different summer events- everything from lunch to a wedding!

WHAT CAN SPRING PRINT FABRIC DO FOR YOU?

Spring print fabric can light up your life...hypothetically speaking! For all you neutral wardrobe lovers, adding a little floral print here or animal print there can make your neutral look stand out!

Adding floral or any print as a key piece (shown in the picture below) is an ideal option for work. This look can easily be taken into evening by ditching that blazer, sprucing up your make-up!

We also love print fabric as a whole garment. You can not help but to feel like a lady when you are wearing a light, airy, and bright printed dress!

Last but not least, we love printed fabric because it can hide any problem areas you might have.

Here are a few new prints @ Fabrique!

BOUNCE INTO SPRING WITH VOGUE'S NEW VERY EASY SEWING PATTERNS!

As you may or may have not heard, Fabrique now carries the New Vogue pattern catalog. As always, there are a variety of patterns that range from very easy to "super sewer" status!

We always love to encourage sewing by picking up a pattern and jumping right in. Of course, Fabrique classes can help you increase skill level and teach useful and many times unknown sewing techniques. But first, the decision to "do" must be made. We have found that the very easy sewing patterns by Vogue can be just that...VERY EASY! So, don't be intimidated to just buy a pattern and try it.

Start by trying the very easy patterns and working your way up to the more complicated ones. The employees at Fabrique are always available to help out with any questions you might have about your pattern or sewing needs.
We also offer classes to help you with your every sewing endeavor. Our classes include beginner to intermediate courses and tips, tricks, and how to's for every sewer.
