Decades of Style

We all know that history constantly repeats itself. The old becomes new and vice versa. This is the beautiful cycle of fashion we can all look forward to and rely on. Vintage styles from the 1920's to the 1960's have been increasingly favored for the last decade, among all ages!

Decades of Style offers a variety of vintage patterns ranging in all the classic silhouettes we love and admire. Although the vintage style is becoming more popular, these timeless patterns remain unique among the majority of people. Honestly, when you wear a vintage pattern, it gives you that "old-world" class that can make you feel like a glamorous LADY. Who knows, you might even want to slip on some elbow high gloves!

You can give the vintage patterns a modern twist by pairing a classic silhouette with a new printed fabric or maybe with updated trim. The garments can also remain as a time-honored piece by using typical solid silk, cotton, and wool fabrics. You can have so much fun with these!

The Decades of Style patterns come in a variety of sizes and are much easier to work than the original vintage patterns.

We are having our Holiday sparkle sale! 30% off almost anything that sparkles excluding bridal wear. Metallic thread, beaded fabric, sequined fabric, woven with lurex thread, shiny appliques...you name it! If it sparkles you get the deal!

These selected sparkle fabrics and trims are amazing for your ordinary holiday soiree or gathering. Since the fabrics speak so much for themselves, simple and basic silhouettes work perfectly with these. A bodice with glimmer, a pencil skirt with shimmer, a dress with gleaming waistline trim, or rhinestones on your favorite clutch. There is so much to play with and so much room for creativity!

The Holidays are great for family time, giving thanks, food, and DECORATION! And by decoration, I don't mean just home... It is time to get fancy and sparkle right along with those lights.

Sparkly decorated fabric can be used for a key item in your ensemble or as the whole main piece.  I strongly recommend pairing a sparkly fabric with a subtle or matte fabric to give your holiday outfit the flare and balance it needs.

The following images are selected "sparkle" fabrics that would look great for any holiday design. These fabrics are in store and can also be found at our website www.fabriquefabrics.com.

The Sewing Workshop Bags

Many of you have come in to Fabrique during The Sewing Workshop "trunkshow" and witnessed some of the patterns brought to life. During this trunk show we featured many of the patterns as completed garments and accessories so that you could better visualize what the pattern would look like in actuality.

Several people were extremely interested in the bag patterns and decided to purchase and personalize them. They paired great novelty fabric with some intricate trim for that extra umph!!!

Since the Holidays are getting closer, this could be a great option as a personalized gift for someone or for yourself. Not as much sewing time involved as a full garment and much less fabric is used.

For those of you who missed the Trunk show...

Here is a preview of the bags and a few suggested fabrics:
